Project Statement:
The Flores family has been serving the public for many years, with two generations of family members serving in the Santa Fe Fire Department. Pride and dedication runs deep in the family. The job requires one to go to inadvisable places, and do what many people would consider foolhardy. Through these experiences, the bond of brotherhood is formed.
Artist Bio:
As a New Mexican native, I have always been intrigued by the beauty around me. I spent years attending school in India and traveling the world, which gave me a different perspective on the cultures and landscapes this world has.
During my long shifts as a firefighter paramedic in Santa Fe, I used the web to teach myself, turning to the surrounding landscape for my models. I am looking for a fresh perspective on the world. I now live in Santa Fe with my wife, Amrit, and kids, Ravi and Shanti. When I’m not working as a firefighter I’m capturing weddings and family shoots.
