Photographers are invited to submit image series exploring the thematic categories.

Submissions are open to photographers of all levels, and from around the world.
JURY REVIEW
JUNE - JULY 2020

A jury of 50+ international arts and media leaders reviews every series submitted.

ARTIST ANNOUNCEMENT
EARLY AUGUST 2020

40 artists will be selected for the 9th edition of The Photoville FENCE.

Additionally, over 30 photographers will be selected for the Regional Photographers Showcase public exhibitions.
JUROR’S CHOICE + PEOPLE’S CHOICE
JULY 2020

Additional awards will be given to two artists:

+ An artist selected by the jury will receive a $5,000 project development cash grant, mentorship, and a public solo exhibition at the Photoville festival in NYC in the fall of 2020.

+ An artist selected by the public will receive a Leica camera package.
PRODUCTION
JULY 2020

Selected artists are notified. We handle everything needed to bring this large scale exhibition to life (curation, design, permitting, insurance, printing, installation etc.)
EXHIBITION + EVENTS
AUGUST 2020 - SEPTEMBER 2021

The Photoville FENCE will be unveiled in Brooklyn Bridge Park, followed by public exhibitions in Atlanta, Calgary, Denver, Durham, Houston, Sarasota, Seattle and Winchester over the coming months. All exhibitions will be accompanied by public programs, and an education resource guide for visitors of all ages to engage with the photography.
ONGOING COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITIES
The Photoville FENCE is one of our favorite ways to meet new artists for future collaborations and paid commissions. Past special projects include curating solo gallery and public exhibitions, arranging artist commissions, teaching photo workshops, and presenting their photography and collaborating with educators.
