As a picture editor on the National Desk at the New York Times, Morrigan McCarthy works with photographers from around the United States to cover a range of important issues, such as immigration, gun violence, natural disasters and opioid use. She has been at the Times since 2015, and began as a photo editor covering the 2016 presidential election. Prior to working at the Times, Morrigan was a freelance photographer and writer and traveled the world working on grant-funded public art projects that explored environmental issues and youth.
