biography

Iaritza Menjivar is Associate Director at the Griffin Museum of Photography and a working documentary photographer. Her personal work has appeared in the New York Times Lensblog, The Groundtruth Project and Lenscratch. She has received a St. Botolph Foundation Emerging Artist Grant and was recently awarded a scholarship for a three- year Advanced Mentored Study Program for Visual-Storytelling and Documentary Projects with Ed Kashi from VII Photo and James Estrin from the New York Times Lens. Iaritza co-teaches a photography workshop in Mexico, Seeing Oaxaca, along with Stella Johnson through Maine Media Workshops. Iaritza holds a BFA in Photography from Lesley University.
